Meet L1
We are excited to introduce our single print head 3D printer, the L1.
Over the past few months, you’ve seen us promote our L4 Independent Four Print Head Printer, designed primarily to boost batch production efficiency and multi color printing speed. Although multi-color printing has taken the FDM 3D printing world by storm over the last year, we still see many users who mostly print in a single color every day.
That’s why, right from the initial design phase of the L4, we planned to introduce a single print head printer. It delivers a larger build volume, shares the same linear motor drive system and robust, reliable die cast metal structure, and of course comes at a more accessible price.

395*395*386mm³ Extra-Large Build Volume
Since the single print head on the L1 is not constrained by additional print heads, it maximizes the usable build space. Furthermore, without the need for multi print head calibration, the print head design can be optimized to be even more compact (in progress). An entire P2S printer can easily fit inside this printable volume.

Linear Motor Drive
We continue to use our linear motor system on the L1, with a total of three linear motors across the X and Y axes. As we mentioned previously, this provides a motion accuracy of ±1 μm, requires less maintenance, and delivers a longer service life. And, as many users have noted, it looks cool.
If you would like to learn more about our linear motors, here are some of the tests we conducted: https://lightmake.tech/blogs/news/linear-motor-stability-testing

Expandability
-
Add the Auto Filament Expansion & Dry System to achieve up to 4-color printing.
-
Add the Thermo Top Kit Cover to maintain a chamber temperature of 50–60°C.
-
Add the Automatic Print Removal System R1, which can automatically remove the PEI plate carrying the printed model and replace it with another PEI plate.
We know you are excited and curious about these accessories. We will gradually share more details.
And we have received inquiries from some users asking if the L1 can be modded to add extra print heads. After evaluation, we found that this would involve a very complex set of modifications, so we do not suggest doing that.
How to Choose?
The L4 is ideal for users who need batch production, such as print farms and 3D model sellers, as well as those with a strong passion for high-efficiency multi-color printing like designers, or seasoned enthusiasts who love new technology and fresh experiences.
The L1 is best suited for users who need to print large-volume models but focus mostly on single-color printing, demand high precision and durability, and want the ability to print a range of functional materials when paired with the Thermo Top Kit Cover.
Below is a specification list for your comparison:

Here is a video of our ongoing printing test.
*Since the lifting mechanism and calibration mechanism will be removed, the print head on the L1 will be made even smaller in the final version.
