L4 Printing Modes
Today, we're sharing how the L4's four independent print heads can be used. In fact, the four-head system opens up a wide range of printing possibilities to explore. Today, we'll focus on some of the modes we've already implemented on the printer.
Printing Mode 1: Duplicate Mode
In Duplicate Mode, two or four print heads work simultaneously to produce identical copies of the same model. This mode is ideal for batch production, increasing output by up to four times. This feature is especially well suited for 3D print farms, a single L4 can deliver the productivity of up to four conventional 3D printers.

Printing Mode 2: Mirror Mode
In Mirror Mode, two or four print heads work simultaneously to produce perfectly mirrored models, such as two pairs of shoes. It can also produce two mirrored models, each printed with two different materials or colors.

Printing Mode 3: 4-Color or 4-Material Printing
This mode enables printing with up to four colors or up to four different materials in a single model, greatly expanding the possibilities of model design.
With this mode, our printer can achieve 1-second color or material switching, outperforming the industry-leading 5-second print head changing time. It also enables near-zero purge waste, saving more time and material with every color or material change.

Printing Mode 4: Continuous Printing Mode
When printing large models that require the same material, L4 allows you to print continuously without worrying about overnight interruptions caused by filament running out. Once one print head runs out of material, another with the same material takes over, allowing you to print up to 4 spools sequentially without stopping due to material exhaustion.
Print Mode 5: Up to 16-Color Printing
While we believe prints with four or fewer colors meet the needs of most users, we have also listened to some other feedback. Some designers and model makers want to print with more than four colors, and some have noted that, were it not for long print times, they would gladly print designs with over 10 colors. So we retained an AMS expansion option, enabling each print head to handle four colors for a total of up to 16 colors.
Future Exploration
The following are innovative application scenarios that we believe an independent four-print-head system has the potential to enable. Please note that these print modes have not yet development and represent planned initiatives. Our current priority is optimizing the performance of Copy, Mirror, Multi-Color, and Multi-Material modes. Once these foundational features are mature and stable, we will dedicate resources to expanding these application scenarios:
1. Multi-Nozzle Collaborative Printing Mode
Different nozzle sizes work together in a single print: a 0.2mm nozzle is used for outer wall printing to achieve smoother and more refined surface quality, while a 0.8mm nozzle is used for high-speed infill printing to improve overall printing efficiency.

2. Multi-Print Heads Collaborative Printing Mode
Multiple print heads work simultaneously on the same model. For example, each print head can start printing from a different corner of the model, improving printing efficiency.

3. Vibration Cancellation Mode
While our current vibration control is exceptional, it requires the printer to operate in Mirror Mode. Our next step is to develop the Vibration Cancellation Mode. In this mode, even when printing with a single head, the idle print head will perform inverse travel movements to dynamically counteract and cancel out vibrations.
